Best 2019 Finish for #11RACING to Mark the End of the Season – Hall Wins Championship

Brageot flew his way to sixth place in what was an epic season finale which marked the end of the Red Bull Air Race after 12 Championship seasons. It was the best result this year for #11RACING who have had a season of highs and lows completing on 44 points and 8th place in the overall Championship.

It was a penalty free run that put #11RACING in front of Kopfstein after the Czech pilot entered the track too fast and received a DNF (did not finish) Mika’s time of 59.021 meant he flew against the fastest in the Round of 8, Australia’s Matt Hall who was vying for a Championship win.. Brageot flew first and received a 1 second penalty for an over G in the VTM, leaving Hall to cruise around the track to finish well ahead.

After four Red Bull Air Race World Championship podiums including three near misses in second place, Hall finally achieved the holy grail, defeating home hero Yoshihide Muroya by a single point. To the delight of the weekend’s 98,000 passionate fans, Muroya had his own moments in the spotlight as he won the race and took second in the World Championship. Martin Šonka of the Czech Republic claimed third place on the overall podium after being knocked out in the Round of 14.

Chambliss’ race podium (2nd) was also a fitting finish, as the American has won two Red Bull Air Race titles himself and has the longest career in the sport.
